We are sad to announce that on August 25, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Kenneth Rafteseth of Sauk Centre, Minnesota, born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hjalmer Rafteseth and Nellie Rafteseth (Wiseth); and his wife Darlene Rafteseth of Parkers Prairie. He is survived by: his children, Dale Rafteseth (Kelly) of Albany and Donna Rafteseth of Hendersonville; his grandsons, Adam Rafteseth of Albany and Matthew Rafteseth of Albany; and his siblings, Merle Rafteseth (Ruth) of Crookston, Delores Harder of DeLand and Duane Rafteseth of Hawley.

“(Part 2). As a kid, my dad would frequently buy green seedless grapes, and I would often hear about Kenneth and Darlene’s kindness. Even now, as a 56 yo, I say a prayer of thanksgiving for them when I eat grapes. I am here, my kids are here, and (hopefully) generations to come will be here because of them. Thanks be to God for Kenneth and Darlene. Peace be with you. Kenny Ness”

“Hello. My name is Kenneth Ness. I’m sorry to hear of Kenneth’s passing. I was named after him. I am the only child of Leonard Ness, from Holt, MN. I remember visiting them 1x back in the 1970’s. My dad credited Kenneth and Darlene with saving his life when he was in the VA Hospital in Minneapolis in the 1950’s. Dad had much of both lungs removed and was literally more dead than alive. He was Kenneth and Darlene brought him green grapes—the only food he could keep down. (End part 1)”
