He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph, Sr. Kleinschmidt and Margaret Kleinschmidt (Laubach); his children, Margaret "Peggy" Klick and Joel Kleinschmidt; and his siblings, Ollie Kleinschmidt, Anna Mae Pfeninger, Millie Vener and Betty Lou Kleinschmidt.
He is survived by: his former wife Jeanette Schurman; his wife Jeanette Kleinschmidt of Sauk Centre; his children, Larry Kleinschmidt (Audrey) of Sauk Centre, Ned Kleinschmidt (JoAnn) of Glenwood, Rosemarie Marthaler (Gary) of Sauk Centre, Julie Pfeifer (Dennis) of Safety Harbor, Lisa Ilgen (Darryl) of Hector and Tim Kleinschmidt (Mary) of Sauk Rapids; his son-in-law Steve Klick (Mary) of Glenwood; his siblings, Sylvester Kleinschmidt of Sauk Centre and Cecile Zehrer of Sauk Centre; and his sister-in-law Trix Kleinschmidt of Sauk Centre. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
