He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Berling and Anna Berling (Holdvogt); his children, Keith Berling, Catherine and Gerald; and his siblings, Josina Friederichs and John Berling.
He is survived by: his wife Lyla Roering; his children, Jim (Cathy) of New Richmond, WI, Steve (Brenda) of New Munich, Joe (Ann) of Melrose, John (Debbe) of Taylors Falls, Mary Ramacher (Gary) of St. Cloud, Julie Berling (Craig Lambrecht) of Melrose and Karen Fagerland (Kyle) of Plymouth; and his sisters, Mildred Poepping (Lloyd) of St. Cloud and Rita Meyer (George) of Burnsville. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or your local Knights of Columbus chapter.
