He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Jane Leukam; his wife Jane Schurman of Sauk Centre; his granddaughter Jessica Ferris (Jon) of Mesa; his great grandchildren, Adam and Zach; his grandson Jay Schurman (Leah) of Detroit Lakes; his great grandchildren, Macey, Griffin, Bennett and Addisyn; his grandson Jake Schurman (Catie) of Eden Prairie; his great grandchildren, Nora and Owen; his granddaughter Jenna Clink (Ben) of Sauk Centre; his great grandchildren, Carter, Scarlett and Crosby; his mother Florence Schurman of Sauk Centre; his siblings, Debbie Streese of Sauk Centre, Kenny Leukam (Kathy) of Sauk Centre, Duane Leukam (Bonnie) of Sauk Centre, Don Leukam (Diane) of Sauk Centre, Randy Leukam (Terri) of Andover and John Leukam (Wendi Wiese) of Andover; his father Virgil "Bud" Schurman; his parent-in-law Dillo; and his sister-in-law Sue Leukam. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holy Family School and the Sauk Centre Sports Boosters.
