She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Marr and Dorothy Marr (Delong); her husband Leon Schmitz; and her son Leon Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Alan Schmitz (DeeAnn) of Emmetsburg, IA, Randy Schmitz (Angie) of Prior Lake, Pam Christian (Ed) of Celina, TX, Paul Schmitz (Molly) of Woodbury and Laura Newman (Kyle) of Sartell; and her sisters, Mary Grems (Brad), Anita Duncan (Mike), Linda Johnson and Gene Garbett (Cliff). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Betty's memory to the Catholic Charities, specifically the Foster Grandparent Program, Cancer Society or your local Hospice program.
