He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Schaefer and Jennie Schaefer (Staneart); and his siblings, Jerome and Mary. He is survived by: his pets, Roscoe and Chester; his friend Dick; his wife Karen McDougle of Sartell; his children, Corey of St. Cloud, Jason (Ramona) of St. Cloud and Shawn (Kristin) of St. Cloud; his grandchildren, Joshua, Alex and Mackenzie; and his siblings, Alex (Lynda) of Sauk Rapids, Farron (Cindy) of St. Cloud, Delbert of Dawson and LouAnne Simon (Michael) of St. Joseph.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (219 2nd St N, Sartell, MN 56377). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
