It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Ertel of Sartell, Minnesota, born in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, who passed away on October 22, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Ertel and Agnes Ertel (Veches); his former spouses, Elaine Pribyl and Shirley McAllister; and his brothers, Robert, Wayne "Tom" and Lawrence.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Skillingstad (Kirscht) of Sartell; his children, Debbie Helmbrecht (Greg) of Annandale, Penny Berdan (Dave) of St. Cloud, Jeannie Kramer (Joe) of Maple Lake, Sheri Goelz (Pat) of Maple Lake and Michael Ertel (Melissa) of Buffalo; his sister Mary Kohmetscher (Tom) of Albertville; his stepchildren, Sheila Anderson (John), Julie Smith, Eugene Hageman (Tina), Miranda Glimsdahl (Mike), Melinda Flanum (Lee), Rita McKinney (Brian), Lisa Hahn (Dennis), Ruth Beniek (Alvin) and Paul Skillingstad; and his grandchildren, Bobby, Billy Helmbrecht, Ryan, Derek, Ann Berdan, Jeremy Kramer, Jamie Anderson, Melanie Hegle, Amanda Ennis, Erika Holt, Tony, Holly Goelz, Anndi, Destin Ertel, Toni Willems, Morgan and Wyatt Moeller. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
