He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Opatz and Theresa Opatz (Heitzman); his siblings, Leroy, Rita Venski, Delores Newcomb, Lorraine Hoffman, Mary Ann Wilson and Darlene Burskey; and his grandchildren, Nick Theis and Brooke Duray.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Regnell of Sartell; and his siblings, George (Della) of Rice, Bill (Shirley) of Avon, Lloyd of Avon, Judy Rossel of Waite Park, Jack (Jane) of St. Wendel and Eugene of Buffalo. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
