He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood Hills and Beatrice Hills (Magnuson); and his former wife Arlene B. Pursley. He is survived by: his wife Susie Beack; his children, Laurie Hills of Waite Park, Daniel "Butch" (Marlene) of Avon, Tim of Avon, Joni Walberg (Jerry) of Annandale and Julie Hills of Waite Park; and his stepchildren, Scott Beack (Lauretta) of South Haven, Sandy Harrison (Wayne) of Sartell and Dennis Beack (Eric) of Sauk Rapids. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one brother; and four sisters.
