She was predeceased by: her former husband Albert Flaten; her parents, Olaf Kvien and Myrtle Kvien; her son Blair Thompson; her siblings, Donald Kvien, Marilyn Flaten, Robert Kvien and Carolyn Tendeland; and her parents-in-law, Gilbert and Ida Flaten.
She is survived by: her children, Joan Dahl (Greg) of Salol, MN, Beverly Patrick (TJ) of Indianapolis, IN, Harlan Flaten (Sharran), Betty Thompson (Curtis) of Piney, MB, Gary Flaten (Karla) of Lorette, MB and Wade Thompson (Anita) of Lac; her grandchildren, Sara, Jason (Kristi), Rayeann (Brett), Brett (Jo Anne), Danica, Leah (Darrin), Brooke (Chase), Darcy (Collin), Taniele (Eric), Kelly (Josh) and Carly (Ryan); her siblings, Mary Storo, Sally Erickson (Gordon) and Jackie Kvien (Karolyn); her sisters-in-law, Martha Haaby (Vernon) and Lorraine Kvien; and her husband Donald Thompson of Vita, MB. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
