He is survived by: his wife Esther Bense (Muellerleille); his children, JoAnn Scholtz (Steve), Cathy Stevens (Scott), Chris Bense (Joanie), Kimberly Dobie (Pat) and Erin Sandmeyer (Gary); his grandchildren, Leigha Scholtz, Whitney Holtz, Makenzie Arnold, Ashley Baker, Olivia Stevens, Jacob, Malena Bense, Hannah, Luke Dobie, Logan and Grace Sandmeyer; his great grandchildren, Morgan, Rylee Holtz, Garrison and Reagan Baker; and his siblings, Don Bense, Jack Bense (Terry), Vern Bense (Diane), Judy Conrad (Ron), Lester Bense (Polly) and Keith Bense (Brenda). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
