He was predeceased by: his parents, Estel M. Shorter and Evelyn A. Shorter (Garnes); and his siblings, Marlene Nelson and Tom Shorter. He is survived by: his former wife Joanne Johnson; his sons, Scott Shorter (Kristie) and Todd Shorter (Jud); his grandchildren, Tim, Josh, Zac Shorter and Nikki Freiheit (Travis); his great grandchild Trentyn Freiheit; his siblings, Ken Shorter (Judy), Don Shorter (Carole), Corrine Lange and Richard Shorter (Kathy); and his siblings-in-law, John Nelson and Barb Shorter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
