He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Pankratz and Eleanor Pankratz (Hughes); his brothers, Gerald (Ruth) and Leroy; his parents-in-law, Ellis and Hilda Thorson; his brother-in-law Dennis Thorson; and his son-in-law James Eckberg.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Thorson; his children, Terry Pankratz (Kelly), Pamela Eckberg and Peggy Schlumpberger (Craig); his grandchildren, Sarah Reyes (Albert), Heidi Scheurer (Paul), Mindy Oakley (Joshua), Katelynn Beaupre (Ben), Mallory Marlow (Daniel), Marni Malecek and Cole Pankratz; his great grandchildren, Braxton Kurth and Aubrey Scheurer; his uncle Ervin Weinkauf; his son-in-law Rick Malecek; and his sister-in-law Susan Pankratz. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, gifts of memorial may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
