He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sr. Kopf and Nancy Kopf (Bast). He is survived by: his former wife Laura Nelson; his daughter Dr. Samantha Kopf (Anthony Lee Apple); his brothers, Paul Kopf (Michele) and Tad Kopf (Geralyn); his nieces, Caroline Bracken (Rob), Katharine Kopf and Gwendolyn Kopf; and his nephew Liam Kopf. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Robert's family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association in his memory.
