He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxine DuMarce and Gerald Selvage; his adoptive father Ed RedOwl; his sister Sandra; and his nieces and nephews, Maya Ihawin, Camille Joy, Aaron John and Simon Matthew.
He is survived by: his son Tilmer Kenneth (Nadine); his wife Keri Hoeft; his son Michael Jr. (Consuelo); his siblings, Audrey German (DelRay), David Redthunder of Sisseton, Guy Canku (Diana) of Sisseton, John White (Mary Terese) of Albuquerque, NM and Denyce Carillo of Auburn, CA.; his grandchildren, Sidney, Paige, Aja, Aiden, Michael III, Valencia, Ira, Ari, Aaliyah, Logan, Liam, Shalaine, Sabre, Saden, Serena, Sage and Tehya; and his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Michaela and Emeryss.
A wake was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Lake Traverse District Center. A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Rotunda (12554 BIA Highway 711, Agency Village, SD 57262).
