He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland J. Plante and Marion M. Plante; his brothers, Joseph A. Plante (Harriet), Gregory M. Plante (Rosemary) and John P. Plante; and his brother-in-law Lloyd V. Voerding.
He is survived by: his sister Mary Rolande Voerding; and his sister-in-law Martha M. Plante.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Church of St. Louis, King of France, the Minnesota Historical Society, The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, Hill Museum and Manuscript Library Endowment Fund, or to donors' choice.
