He was predeceased by: his wife Kathy A. Harens; his parents, Robert Harens and Virginia Harens; his siblings, Roger, Mary Charlotte and Nick Harens; and his stepson Chris Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Donna K Harens; his children, Brian Harens (Mary), Sheila Smith (Brent) and Colleen; his stepchildren, Laura Hernandez (Andrew), Don Johnson (Paula) and Jackie Sura (Mike); his brothers, Jim Harens (Judy), Dave Harens (Marlys), John Harens (Gloria), Tom Harens and Mike Harens (Mary); his grandchildren, Jake Harens (Kori), Sara McCullough (Nate) and Emily Smith; and his great grandchildren, Teddy and Woodrow. He is also survived by five step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Joseph's Church (1154 Seminole Ave, St Paul, MN 55118).
