He was predeceased by: his former wife Ann Marie; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his wife Rita; his children, Ellen, John (Beth), Joan Sutliff (Mike), Paul (Wendy), Michael and Marie Countryman (Rick); his brothers, Robert (Margie) and Richard (Eli); and his sister-in-law Bernice. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Cretin-Derham High School.
