She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Hartley and Ella Hartley; her former husband Herbert Gerdes; her siblings, Ramona Hennings and Donald Hartley; and her siblings-in-law, Dick Hennings, Gorden Gerdes, Lorreen Fokema, Eleanor Ostrum and Gisela Hartley (Berger).
She is survived by: her husband Craig; her children, Connie Quan (Ray), Will Gerdes (Carol), Dean Gerdes (Phoebe) and Beverly Gerdes Larson (Craig); her foster daughter Kathe Beneventi; her grandchildren, Mark Quan, Lisa Quan Alfarajat, Ken Quan (Michele), Cheryl Quan, Nathan Gerdes (Theresa), Jonathan Gerdes (Elisabeth), Joy Huigens (Allan), Noah Gerdes (Denise), Jeana Flores (Jerry), Mary Kasten (Zachary), Sarah Steuart (Ben), Grace Gerdes, Jeremy Gerdes (Courtney), Caleb Gerdes Graceheart (Monique), Jessalyn Voll (Hans) and Gabriel Gerdes (Haley); her brother Loren Hartley; and her sisters-in-law, Marlene Hartley and Verna Gerdes. She is also survived by 35 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
