She was predeceased by: her husband Wayne T. Ries; her son Douglas W. Ries (Carol); her son-in-law Donald G. Karpe; and her siblings, Margie Vollhaber, Mary Kropelnicki (Felix), Jerome and Joe Bovy (Josie).

She is survived by: her children, Rick D. Ries (Ginny), Jean R. Karpe, Terri L. Stansbury (Arvid) and Pam J. Pignato (Paul); her brother Eugene F. Bovy (Barb); and her siblings-in-law, Jim Vollhaber and Barb Bovy. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
