Brian Steven Sjostrand Obituary
Brian Sjostrand, a resident of the East Side of Saint Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on December 20th, 2023, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Lisa, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years. Brian, aged 61, fought a valiant and heroic battle against lung and brain cancer. He was a cherished son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great- grandfather, and friend.
Brian will be forever remembered for his persistent spirit, unwavering strength, loyalty, and infectious sense of humor. His free-spirited nature left an enduring mark on the hearts of all who knew him, as well as the broader community he touched. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and courage.
Preceded in death by his mother, Monta; father, Harold; brother, Harold Jr.; sister, Brenda; and sister, Erma. Brian is survived by his lifelong partner and wife, Lisa, their children Elisha (Tony), Brian Jr. (Renee), Bryant (Sarah), Brandon (Angela), Bradley (Amanda), 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Barb. Brian served as a father figure to many and was a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral and Celebration of Life in honor of Brian will take place at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 1401 Arcade Street, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55106, on January 12th, 2024. The visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, followed by a service from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Dinner will be provided at the Funeral Home for all those who wish to attend, following the visitation and service. Let us come together to remember and celebrate the remarkable life of Brian Sjostrand.
