He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Mary Roche; his parents, William Schneider and Julia Verboncoeur Schneider; his son Joseph; his siblings, Doris, Charles, Robert, Richard and Thomas; his son-in-law Thomas Reynolds; and his nephews, Grant and William Schneider.

He is survived by: his children, Steve, Maryann Reynolds and Jean Friar (David); his grandchildren, Joseph Schneider (Brenda), Mark Schneider (Courtney), Gina Schneider, Ian, Jake Reynolds, Eleanor and Clare Friar; and his great grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob and Andrew Schneider.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Habitat for Humanity or the Nativity Scholarship Program.
