He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Gardner and Dorothy Gardner; his siblings, Leroy (Roberta) and Arlene (Dave); and his father-in-law Donald Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki; his daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy" (James Dobbs), Kathryn (William Mayer) and Rachel (Stephanie Huffman); his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Olivia Mayer and Noah Huffman; his mother-in-law Joyce Schoenfish; and his siblings-in-law, Debbie Kaufman (Walter), Dawn Rochester (Fred Pamer), Diane Peterson, Becky Johnson and Miles Johnson (Gay Haugsdal). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials preferred to Newport Lutheran Church or the ASPCA.
