He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Barthel and Bernadette Barthel (Vetsch); and his son Kerry Barthel. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Barthel; his children, Jeanne Holland (Wes), Keith Barthel (Sue), Lorianne Ende (Scott), Tim Barthel (Debbie), Theresa Eicher (Jim) and Anne Tiernan (Roger); his daughter-in-law Kathy Jo Barthel; and his brothers, Willard "Willie" Barthel (Mary Jane), Kenneth Barthel (Catherine) and Jerome Barthel (Shirley). He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested for the St. Michael Catholic School or Options for Women/Cornerstone.
