He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schurman and Elizabeth Schurman; his daughters, Lois and Louise; his brothers, Werner, Robert and Del; and his grandchildren, Sara Schurman and George Lagerstrom.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Schmiesing; his children, John (Mary), Mark (Tammy), Barb Christenson (Ed) and Julie Lagerstrom (Ed); and his sisters, Georgetta Doerner and Bette Mae Schepp (Tom). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
