He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignatius Butkowski and Anna Butkowski (Korte); his son Jeffrey Butkowski; and his siblings, Olivia Beste, Jerome Butkowski, Bernice Herzog, Florian Butkowski, Roger Butkowski and Dorothy Weller.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Butkowski of St. Joseph; his children, Denise Butkowski of Waynesville, Michael Butkowski (Terri) of Lake George, Scott Butkowski of Sauk Centre and Todd Butkowski (Jodee) of Hanover; his grandchildren, Tawnie, Sean, Bobbie Jo, Thomas, Andrew, Amelia and Julia; his great grandchild Ivy Quinn; his siblings, Lucille Stanek, LaVerne Fleischhacker, Annette Hollenkamp (Sylvester), Melvin Butkowski (Carol) and Raymond Butkowski; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Anne Butkowski and Martha Butkowski.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice of Sartell, Minnesota.
