He is survived by: his mother-in-law Kathleen Schindler of Joseph's Catholic Church; his wife Kathleen; his children, Elizabeth "Betty" Caspers (Marvin) of St. Joseph, Ambrose, Bonnie Lunser (Dave) of Grey Eagle, Joseph "Joe" (Donna) of Foley, Earl (Deb) of Avon, William "Bill" (Gab) of Rice, Lois Demarais (Dean) of Cold Spring, Leslie (Stephanie) of St. Joseph, Linda Ashfeld (Patrick) of Albany and Kimberly Gertken (Greg Mehr) of Paynesville; and his siblings, Donna Mae Poepping (Wilbert) of Avon, Annete Blonigen of St. Martin, Rosemary Ehlinger of Avon, Lloyd Gertken (Jenny) of Pine River and Eugene Gertken (Sharon) of Albany. He is also survived by thirty-one grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
