He was predeceased by: his parents, John Finnestad and Mamie Finnestad; his grandson Troy Miest; and his siblings, Faith Tunge, Mary Lou Vigil and Wayne Finnestad.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Rusch; and his children, Sherry Miest (Doug), Stan Finnestad (Pat), Steve Finnestad (Su) and Susan Kisken (Bill). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.
