He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Maude Cheatle Ankeny and Irv; his children, Richard John, Robin Louise and Ronald Karl; his wife Lois Ankeny of St. James; his children, Carol Ankeny of Hartford, SD, Risa Carlson, Elmwood, Rachel and Jake Johnson; his grandchildren, Shawn, Brooke Ankeny, Miranda, Chris Jacobs, Jamison, Jakob, Rianna Carlson and Gabby Klicker; his great grandchildren, Jaiden, Libby, Evelyn, A'vayah and Austin; his sister Cecile Carroll; and also, Award and Outstanding Jaycee.
While in college he was active in the Farm House Fraternity and Wesley Foundation.
