He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Hoppe and Edna Hoppe (Genrich); his grandson Ross Blomgren; his siblings, Milford Hoppe (Lois), Marvin Hoppe, Shirley Thate (Bob) and Virginia Looft (David); and his siblings-in-law, Kathryn Bricks (Gene) and Richard Swanson.

He is survived by: his wife Marian Swanson of St. James; his children, Terri Kircher (Mike) of St James, James Hoppe (Darla) of St James and Kelly Hanson (Brad) of Bingham Lake; his grandchildren, Katelyn Everhart (Mark), Dani Lind (Carl), Rachel Melson (Stephan), Ethan Hoppe (Emily), Logan Hoppe (Erin), Colin Hoppe (Madison Harmon), Landon Hoppe (Samantha Maul), Jenna Hauser (Cody), Vance Blomgren (Kaitie), Stuart Blomgren (Kyeanna), Dylan Hanson and Dayton Hanson; his great grandchildren, Frederick, Phoebe, Lucille Lind, Elliot, Oliver, Micah Hoppe, Isla Hoppe, Stella, Collins, Hayes Hauser, Luella Blomgren, Kesleigh and Beckham Blomgren; his nephew Bruce Sharp (Joanne); and his sisters-in-law, Carol Hoppe of Eden Prairie, Suzann Olson of St James and Myrna Seaman (Roger) of American Fork.
