It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John J. Schmitt (Saint Francis, Minnesota), born in Mankato, Minnesota, who passed away on April 2, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Schmitt and Frances Schmitt (Bach); his parents-in-law, Orville and Eileen Ridd; and his niece Tammy Lynn Schmitt.
He is survived by: his wife LeVaun Ann Ridd; his children, Karen Morris-Ft (Mark), Laurie Gregor-Shakopee (Randy), Michael (Connie) and Patrick (Alison); his grandsons, Joshua Gregor (Melissa), Stephen Morris (Meredith) and Alex Gregor (Cassandra); his great grandchildren, Kinsley, Lucas, Calvin and Kelton; his siblings, Thomas Schmitt (Dianne), Joanne Brixius-Lakeville (Ronald) and Joseph; and his brother-in-law Charles Ridd (Cheryl). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
