He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry McConnell and Mary McConnell (Schmitt); and his siblings, Rita Hall, Marie, Albert, Victor and James.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ware of Mary's Cathedral; his daughter MaryBeth Thompson (Charlie) of St. Cloud; and his grandsons, Cameron Thompson and Jack Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
