She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Rolfes and Bertha Rolfes (Behnen); her husband Clarence Backes of Catherine's Catholic Church; her grandson Rick; and her siblings, Martha Fasen, Raymond Rolfes, Alma Lieser and Andrew Rolfes.
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Neumann (Roger) of Sartell, Sue Gulsvig (Keith) of Sauk Rapids, Steve (Joan) of St. Joseph and David (Kathy) of St. Cloud; and her sisters, Leora Burg and Irene Schmidt. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
