He was predeceased by: his parents, George R. LaPlant and Caroline "Mae" LaPlant (Holmberg); his son Mark Jr.; and his siblings, Stanley Goerge LaPlant, Marlys Barbeau, Lois Price and Basil LaPlant.
He is survived by: his children, Virgil B. LaPlant, Raymond Bauernfeind of Faribault and Colleen Milford (Terry) of New Mexico; his grandchildren, Leslie Marie, Lynn Marie, Miles, Mistya, Savanah and Isaac; and his sisters, Joan Raisanen of Buffalo, Yvonne Degrar of Cloquet and Kay Bastin of Delano. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
