He was predeceased by: his father Norman Schmidt; and his parents-in-law, Ervin Krueger and Rona Krueger. He is survived by: his mother Ordella Schmidt (Lindemeier) of Excelsior; his wife Julie Ann Krueger of St. Cloud; his children, Jennifer Schmidt-McCormack (Garrett) of Morris and Joe Schmidt (Tara) of Maplewood; his grandson Julian; and his siblings, Keith Lindemeier (Rhonda) of Hutchinson, Kenny Schmidt of Brainerd and Keri Breeggemann (Tom) of Cologne.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Love of Christ Lutheran Church (1971 Pine Cone Rd S, St Cloud, MN 56303).
