With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Geraldine Benson-Zimmer of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 11, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Schmit and Christine Schmit (Palmersheim); her husband John Benson; her son John Charles Benson; her brothers, Roger and Adrian Schmit; and her brother-in-law Notch Hermanutz.
She is survived by: her former husband Werner Zimmer of Peter's Catholic Church; her daughter-in-law Lynn Picquet (Chris); her siblings, Joseph Schmit (Marilyn), Francis Schmit (Mary), Mary Ann "Tudie" Hermanutz, Charles Schmit (Betty), Helen Cusack (Woody) and Vicki Meyer (Chas); and her stepchildren, Sharon Classen (Dave), Marcia Gans (Joe), Bob Zimmer (Marie), Susan Barrett (Sam) and Mary Beth Lucius (Lance). She is also survived by relatives and friends.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
