He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard H. Thoreen and Margaret Thoreen (Hayes); his children, Jennifer, Thomas and John Thoreen; and his sister Mary Zell.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Thoreen; his children, Julie (Phil Birkedal), David (Julie Koshgarian), Sarah and Michelle; his grandchildren, Clare Birkedal, Donte Wolf (Alexis Wolf), Henry and Samuel Thoreen; and his pet Charley.
