He was predeceased by: his stepbrothers, Dale Carlson and Mark Hoolihan. He is survived by: his parents, Jack L. Horton and Roselle Carlson; his brothers, Jeff Horton (Patty) and Robert Horton; his stepsiblings, Dean Carlson (Janet), Denise Bonemeyer (Bob), Danette Carlson (Randy White), Linda Hoolihan (Paul Oberlander) and Paul Hoolihan; his niece Freya Zank; and his nephews, Nick Horton (Sevi), Alex Horton (Julia) and Maxwell Horton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins and many friends.
