She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Holmblad and Jennie Holmblad (Carlson); her husband Bill Sanders; her son Loyd; and her siblings, Herbert, Donald, Marvin, Charles, Kenny and LaVonne Newton.

She is survived by: her daughter Connie; her sisters, Jeanette Wheeler of Arlington, WA and Carole Sittig (Dale) of Lenexa, KS; and her sister-in-law Patricia Holmblad of Sartell, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
