He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Deters and Clara Deters (Marthaler); his son Jeff Deters; his stepdaughter Michelle Zierden; and his siblings, Teresa Schulte, Robert Deters, Gerald Deters and Margaret Schwinghammer.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his sons, Randy (Cindy) of St. Cloud, Rodney (Rose) of Rice and Greg (Kellie) of Comanche, TX; his daughter-in-law Brenda Deters of Big Lake, MN; his stepchildren, Denise Justin (Ken) of Illinois, Lynn Scott (Rich) of St. Cloud, MN, Steve Larson of Maine, Jack Larson (Kim) of South Dakota and John Larson of Sartell, MN.; and his sisters, Lorayne Peckskamp of St. Cloud and Kathryn Olmscheid of Sauk Centre. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery (15550 MN-115, Little Falls, MN 56345).
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
