He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hams and June Hams (Melby); his former wife Marjorie Ranta; and his siblings, Ardis and Ernest Duane.
He is survived by: his wife Teri LaPatka Donahue; his children, Amanda Crisalli (David), Gretchen Caserotti (Henry), Kristofer (Michelle), Michael (Laura Zarougian), Sean Donahue (Mikayla Holroyd), Cullen Donahue (Khalil Uvero) and Logan Donahue (Shyla Taylor); his grandchildren, Sophia, Juliana Crisalli, Domiano and Harrison Caserotti; and his sister Sheila McGaha.
He continued to direct and act in local community theatre as well as spending time on the Central Minnesota Arts Board and the David Swenson Foundation.
