He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cletus Phillips and Ruth Phillips; his children, Tricia Schneider of Overland Park, Kansas, Michael Phillips of Mankato and Paul Phillips (Beth) of Mankato; and his siblings, Barbara Moore (Jerry) of LaPine, Fred Phillips (Barbara) of Austin and Kevin Phillips of Mankato. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Legion or to an organization of the donor's choice.
