He was predeceased by: his parents, August Hilgers and Evelyn Hilgers (Weinzierl); his sister LouAnn Huemoeller; and his parents-in-law, Edmund and Josephine Deutsch.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; his children, Dawn Peterson (Mark) of Big Lake, Peter Hilgers (Diana) of Jordan and Jason Hilgers (Erica) of New Germany; his granddaughters, Jessalyn Hilgers, Vidalia Hilgers, Jill Hilgers, Brielle Hilgers, Penelope Hilgers and Annalee Hilgers; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Huemoeller of Burnsville, Berdie Hartman (Leon) of Shakopee, Joe Deutsch (Edith) of Jordan and Rita Steinhoff (Louis) of Shakopee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Boniface Catholic Church (4025 Main St, St Bonifacius, MN 55375). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
