He was predeceased by: his parents, Gottlieb "Ole" Demenge and Bernice Demenge (Lee); his brothers, Gregory, Randy and James; his siblings-in-law, Ron Carlson and Debbie; and his pet Henry.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Maki; his stepsons, Ken (Lisa) and Tim Maki; his stepgrandchildren, Alicia, Eero and Anja Maki; his siblings, Edward (Kathy), Robert "Bob", Linda Carlson, Frank (Margo), Joanne Buskala (John), Gary, Susan (Gerald) and Mark (Brenda); his children, Layla, Leena, Lennie and Shay Dahl; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Jayden and River. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
