He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ashburn and Edith Ashburn (Vesey); his former wife Muriel Chelin; his brother Bud; and his brother-in-law Joe Benson.
He is survived by: his wife Pat; his grandchildren, Zachary Chapman (Julie), Doug Chapman, Austin Ashburn (Alexis), Kelsi Benner, Brittanie Croll (Cory) and Alyssa Ashburn; his sisters, Judy Rode (Belwin) of Benson and Joy Halvorson (Dean) of Granite Falls; and his siblings-in-law, Molly Ashburn of Sacred Heart, Jim Chelin (Carol) of Hutchinson and Curtis Chelin of San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
