He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Malecek and Marie Malecek (Schmidt); his parents-in-law, Mable and Bert Gerde; and his sister-in-law Linda Kleinsasser.
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his child Dale Malecek (Kathy); his brothers-in-law, Percy "Butch" Gerde and Vern Kleinsasser; and his niece Lynnette Hutson. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
