We are sad to announce that on May 10, 2021, at the age of 84, Richard Deruyter (Ruthton, Minnesota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick DeRuyter and Lena DeRuyter (Kooistra); his former wife Eleanor Determan; his siblings, John (Margaret), Gerrit, Sparky and Nellie Schoonhoven (John); and his brothers-in-law, Dick Van Engen and Peter Gunnink.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Scotting of Ruthton; his daughters, Nancy Bertrand (Dennis) of Garvin and Cathy Jo Bertrand (Daniel) of Iona, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Joshua Bertrand (Corrie), Sarah McFarland (Ryan), Lissa Li (Nick), Jacob Bertrand and Kayla Thompson (Justin Garcia); his great grandchildren, Eleanor, Maren Bertrand, Chloe Orpen and Abraham Garcia; his siblings, Gert Van Engen of Hartley, Mina Poppens (Ed) of Tea, Mary Ann Gunnink of Edgerton and Carol Hill (Richard) of Fort Worth, Texas; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley DeRuyter of Rock Valley and Linda Wissink of Rock Valley. He is also survived by daughter and 3 oldest grandchildren.
