It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Keith Allen Burckhardt of Russell, Minnesota, born in Tyler, Minnesota, who passed away on April 24, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Burckhardt and Adeline Burckhardt (Morgan); and his sister Julie Burckhardt. He is survived by: his wife Diane Burckhardt of Russell; his sons, Jon Burckhardt (Jeni) of Rochester, Chadd Burckhardt (Melissa) of Minneapolis and Reed Burckhardt (Julia Farber) of Denver, CO; and his siblings, Bruce Burckhardt (Deb) of Brookings, SD and Mary Jo Zimmer (Doug) of Cottonwood. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

I remember Keith was an outstanding student-athlete at Russell High School during my first year of teaching in the Russell District. I remember his kindness, respect, and love for his school, and family. Keith was a wonderful friend to my former husband Larry Mechtenberg. God Bless Keith's Soul and may he rest in peace. A memorial in Keith's name was made to the RTR Booster Club.”
