He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Nelson and Selma Nelson; and his siblings, Wendel Nelson, Harold Nelson, Warren Nelson and Jeanette Holm (Cliff).

He is survived by: his wife Marcia A. Kelly; and his sisters-in-law, Eleanor Nelson of Hinckley and Judi Nelson of Lake Nebagamon, WI.. He is also survived by 10 nephews; 2 nieces.
