He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Schlichting and Lorraine Schlichting (Burggraff) of Royalton; his brother-in-law David Borash; his nephew Jason Schlichting; his son-in-law Greg Haugen; and his parents-in-law, Leo, Bridget Sobiech, Leona, Louie Peka and James Petron.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Sobiech of Royalton; his children, Joyce Schlichting of Eden Prairie, Donald Schlichting (Deanna) of Little Falls, John Schlichting (Jennifer) of Flat Rock, NC, LeRoy Schlichting (Laurie) of Minot, ND, Marie Haugen of Chaseburg, WI and Linda Meemken (Adam) of Royalton; his siblings, Audrey Borash, Alice Vilinski (Larry), Harvey Schlichting (Rose) and Leon Schlichting (Theresa); and his mothers-in-law, Catherine Schwientek (Richard) and Lorraine Petron. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
